Chris Barber

I am Chris Barber, founder and owner of CB Consultancy Services Ltd.
I am passionate about driving performance that engages people throughout the change journey. With a reputation for delivering results, I hold myself to account and carry this through with every customer I work with.

Throughout my working career, I have had the privilege to work across many industry sectors, from hospitality, retail, call centres, fleet, field operations, to name a few.  I was fortunate to be able to transform team performance in each of the areas that I operated in.

In 2004 I undertook my first contracting role, and really enjoyed the challenge, whilst managing to deliver a fundamental improvement in operational performance within London, in the telecoms sector

Further contracting work followed

  • Installing advertising within the London underground environment, (saved the advertising company £4m over 2-years) by streamlining processes and managing the client expectations
  • Project management for a construction firm, running multiple projects and sourcing and managing suppliers, improving efficiencies and profit margins, as well as defining their UK strategy
  • Scoped and implemented Good to Great principles for a national commercial Fleet operator in the UK, delivering substantial change and ran projects ranging from £1m to £50m, helping design and deliver a bespoke IT system, and helped transform their business model, saving circa £20m per annum operating costs and adding £3m to the bottom line
  • Delivered governance and coaching to management for a PE backed national traffic management company, helping a region improve profit margins, adding £3m to the company EBITDA
  • Guided a plant and fleet division through their transformation model, whilst working with the MD and senior leadership team to develop a five-year strategic plan

Fast forward to today, and with 20-years in a consulting capacity, my business is focused on delivering sustainable change, by providing a bespoke solution to your business needs.   I believe that no standard template will solve the challenges that a company faces, and from my experience, a tailored approach is required.  This has been the experience of the customers that I have worked for over the years, where I have worked with the board, listened to the challenges at hand, investigated, provided feedback and then delivered tangible and sustainable results.
